Children's Story: by

It was a warm and bright Easter Monday afternoon, and inside Kookaburra Kitty's courtyard all her animal friends were enjoying the sunshine; all but Joey, her marmoset monkey.
Being the eldest, he felt a great responsibility upon his shoulders.

He stared wide-eyed at his Mickey Mouse watch.
"Oh, it's already half past five. Kitty's been in the kitchen for exactly three hours, maybe I had better go in and see if she needs any help."
"No you don't caw. No you don't, caw, caw." called out Cindy the cockatoo.
"Yes but!"

Children's Story: by

"Surprise!" It was Felicity Fruity.
She was dressed in a party dress and held a large colourful packet in her hands.
"Happy Easter children!"

All the animals came running excitedly towards her.
"Now children, you won't all be able to open it."
She looked around at them.
"Tell me, who is the youngest among you?"
"I am!" called out a squeaky voice from the crowd.
"Please move to one side children, so I can see."
A tiny red female squirrel stood there on her toes, with her right hand raised.
"What is your name little one?"
"Simone" she replied, blushing.

Felicity smiled warmly and knelt down to her height, then ushered her to come to her.
Once she did Felicity lifted her gently and placed her on her lap and handed her the gift.
"Happy Easter!"
"Is it really for me?"
"It's for all of you!" she replied smiling and brushing her left hand over Simone's ginger hair.
"Hooray!" applauded all of Kitty's animal friends.

"And what exactly has been going on behind my back, hmm?" asked Kitty, appearing from the kitchen.
Her body language said it all.
She stood with her hands on her hips looking like a kettle.
There was a moment's complete silence, as everybody turned to one another. Simone's hands grew sweaty and the gift slipped and fell onto the grass.

"Just for that!" Kookaburra Kitty said and ushered Felicity Fruity indoors.
The animals all turned to one another, looking anxious and worried.
Joey was taking it personally, being the eldest, and was on the verge of crying. And then...

Children's Story: by

"Ta Daaa!" Suddenly Kookaburra Kitty emerged from the kitchen, followed by Felicity Fruity, both held large trays in their hands.
Her tray was filled with Ice Cream Play-do Popsicles, while Felicity carried one containing Easter Bunnies and Easter Eggs.

Suddenly all the animals eyes lit up and they made their way across the courtyard to the long garden table. They sat down in chairs when,
"Umm," said Kitty, "Aren't you forgetting something, Simone?"
Her eyes turned to the gift lying on the grass.
"Oh yes, sorry Felicity, in all the excitement I forgot about it."
She hurried back and retrieved it, then turned to Kitty and Felicity.

"Please may I open it now?" Kookaburra Kitty turned to Felicity Fruity and both smiled.
"Please do!"

Children's Story: by

Simone tore through the gift wrap and what she saw made her jump up and down in excitement.
"WOW! it's a large container of Rainbow Putty, with an accompanying do-it-yourself kit!"

"You're spoiling them, Felicity." said Kookaburra Kitty, winking and smiling at her.
"Thank you, Felicity!" called out all the animal children at the same time
"It's my real pleasure, Happy Easter to everyone!"

After which they all sat down and enjoyed the rest of the evening, eating and playing.
