Children's Story: by

I have a cat who thinks he's a lion and he is extremely long
But I don't know how to tell him this delusion can't go on
He's definitely not a lion, I've never heard him roar.
Though the other day he waited for me crouched behind the door
In fact there are many things that often make me doubt
Like the way he sometimes looks at me and tries to stare me out
The meat that disappeared whilst defrosting on the side
And the way he gobbled up the lot and smiled at me with pride.
When he jumps up on the table he hangs over both ends.
While his claws can tear through anything including closest friends
I'm pretty sure he's not a lion, I'd notice don't you think?
His favourite place to hide away is in the kitchen sink.
A lion wouldn't fit in there, but then neither does he.
Oh, I have a horrid feeling and now it's clear to see.
I haven't got a cat at all though he is a furry feline.
The creature living in my house REALLY IS A LION!
