Highgate School Creative Writing Awards
 
 
Young Writer Awards Cermony - Sheila Helliwell Every Year Highagte School hosts the Cyprus Creative Writing Competition, which consists of reading sessions, story telling, creative writing workshops and the Award Ceremony.
 
After serious consideration, judges have two weeks to read a selection of stories without knowing the identity and the schools that the children are from. The promising Young Writer Award is given to the most outstanding piece of work.
 
For it's 16th year (2010), Highgate invited children's author Sheila Helliwell (see photo left) to provide story readings and award prizes, winners include:
 
Foley's School   Congratulations to Karim Arnous for 1st Prize and Promising Young Writer Award (year 6 Foley's Grammar and Junior School) for "A Day in the life of a Toilet Brush".
