Children's Story: by

Years ago three boars lived in the Perigord Region
It was once known for its famous Roman Legion

They had a three bedroom house in part of the city
Their French neighbours were friendly without pity

They owned a market stand and sold truffles to snack
Their customers loved tasty truffles that were black

They only searched for truffles until they were found
Neighbours told them of Donkey Kong being around

Children's Story: by

They opened their stand six days in the market line
Sundays they searched in the forest of oak and pine

They sniffed around tree bases for truffles so fine
They are considered a rare delicacy when you dine

Children's Story: by

They are valuable at 100 dollars it is sad to announce
When you can afford to purchase only one little ounce

Sunday their house was robbed by a thief with a plan
The robber stole a 20 pound barrel of truffles and ran

There were no witnesses to this crime of high price
Rumours told it was neighbours, it was not good advice

Two boars, Max and Hugo, searching to the tree line
They followed the truffle scent to an abandoned mine

Children's Story: by

Bruno was first to find the mine and hid in a hurry
Donkey Kong was carrying the barrel with no worry

Max and Hugo were near, following with their nose
They did not know that Bruno was already so close

Donkey sampled the truffles and set the barrel down
Then he left to get a glass of red wine in the town

As soon as Donkey left the mine, away from the stash
Bruno took back home the barrel of truffles in a flash

They reported Donkey Kong to Sheriff Jean Bell
He did not resist arrest and went quietly to his cell

Moral of this story is do not keep valuables at home
When you have been warned of a thief on the roam
